Early in medical school, every student learns that a large part of being a doctor is learning to speak the language. T2-weighted sagittal MRI, methicillin resistant staph aureus, and tricuspid valve need to roll off the tongue. There’s no time to look up acronyms, either, such as COPD, IDDM, and PRES.
